Ukraine Changes the Registration Procedure for Feed Additives
The Government of Ukraine has updated the procedures for the state registration of feed additives and the maintenance of the State Register of Feed Additives. This decision aims to harmonize Ukrainian legislation with European Union requirements and improve state control over the circulation of feed additives, according to the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
Specifically, the document defines the procedure for submitting and reviewing applications for the state registration of feed additives, evaluating registration dossier materials, making decisions on state registration and re-registration, amending such decisions, and suspending or terminating their validity. These rules provide a transparent framework for market operators.
The resolution also establishes the maximum import volumes of unregistered feed additives intended for state registration, scientific research, presentations at public events, and the internal needs of market operators, including the development of new feeds. Such imports will not permit the sale of additives or feeds containing them, nor the introduction into circulation of animals fed with such additives.
A separate procedure regulates the maintenance of the State Register of Feed Additives. It sets requirements for registry information, its submission, provision, storage, and data protection, while also defining the powers of the registry holder and administrator. This will improve market operators' access to information regarding registered feed additives, their categories, functional groups, and target animal species.
The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection (Gosprodspromslyzhba) carries out the state registration of feed additives and maintains the relevant register within its established powers. The implementation of this resolution will ensure proper accounting of authorized feed additives, promote compliance with feed legislation, and strengthen state control in this sector.
