In cultivation, it requires well-drained soil to prevent bulb rot. While it appreciates moisture, it cannot tolerate waterlogged conditions, making proper drainage design essential for landscape application.
Light requirements are seasonal: the plant needs bright light during its growth phase in early spring. Once the foliage begins to wither, it can thrive in semi-shaded areas under the canopy of deciduous trees.
