Adults possess a slender, elongated body, usually yellow-brown or dark brown in color. The species is characterized by the unique morphology of its fore tibiae, which are adapted for moving between floral structures.
Larvae resemble adults in general shape but are wingless and exhibit a lighter, more translucent color. The life cycle comprises egg, larva, propupa, pupa, and adult stages.
These insects can produce several generations during a single growing season, which allows the population density to increase rapidly under favorable environmental conditions.
Warm and dry weather conditions are particularly conducive to the rapid development and multiplication of this pest in cereal fields.
What it damages
