Biological control involves the conservation and release of natural predators, including lacewings, predatory mites, and pirate bugs, which help keep thrips populations below the economic threshold.

Chemical control should be implemented using systemic insecticides when the economic threshold is reached. It is essential to choose products that are effective against larvae while minimizing harm to beneficial insect populations.

To avoid the development of insecticide resistance, rotate between different chemical classes of products. Constant vigilance and timely intervention are crucial for maintaining healthy cereal crops.
