The genus Systole belongs to the family Eurytomidae (order Hymenoptera). These are small chalcid wasps that act as phytophagous insects, specifically targeting developing seeds.

Larvae are white, legless, and have a robust head capsule designed for feeding within the hard tissues of seeds or stem sections.
Due to their endophagous lifestyle, these insects are rarely seen by farmers during the growing season, which complicates early detection.

What it damages
