The program for applying the fertilizer Nutrivant Plus on oilseed crops — sunflower, soybean, rapeseed — is gaining momentum. These crops, as is well known, require balanced mineral nutrition and are characterized by high removal of mineral nutrients with the harvest.
The non-root feeding Nutrivant Plus oilseed ensures:
— increasing the yield of oilseed crops by 4–10 centners and improving the quality of the crop;
— improving the uptake of nutrients by the plant root system from the soil;
Soybean. Among oilseed crops, soybean shows high sensitivity to deficiency of microelements: manganese, molybdenum, and zinc. Critical periods for microelements are the bud formation and first pod formation phases of the crop. Soybean is recommended to be fertilized three times — the first spring application is combined with herbicide application during the 3–5 true leaf stage of the crop, the second application is carried out during the 5–6 leaf stage until bud formation, and the third application is performed in summer until the beginning of maturation of lower pods. In each application, 2 kg/ha of Nutrivant Plus oilseed is applied, and in the last summer application, it is recommended to additionally include 1–2% urea in the working solution.
Sunflower is very sensitive to deficiency of manganese, zinc, boron, copper, iron, and sulfur. During the vegetative period, the critical period for manganese is the 6–8 true leaf stage. The fertilizer Nutrivant Plus oilseed contains physiologically balanced, crop-specific ratios of macronutrients, ensuring normal growth and development of these crops. Sunflower is recommended to be fertilized in spring (3–4 kg/ha) during the 3–7 true leaf stage. Some sunflower producers practice split applications of Nutrivant Plus, typically ending applications at 11 true leaf pairs. The recommended water volume is approximately 200 liters/ha.
According to experiments conducted by TOV «UkrAgroKom», Poltavsky District (Ukraine), the yield increase on sunflower was 3.8 centners/ha. Nutrivant Plus oilseed was applied at the 4 true leaf stage, 3 kg/ha, with a working solution volume of 300 liters/ha.
Rapeseed. Critical periods for manganese and boron for rapeseed are the 7–8 true leaf stage and bud formation. The recommended fertilization scheme for winter rapeseed is three applications of Nutrivant Plus oilseed in autumn, spring, and during bud formation, with a fertilizer application rate of 2 kg/ha per application. Nutrivant Plus for spring rapeseed is applied in the same phases: up to 7–8 leaves and during active elongation — bud formation. In this case, 4–6 kg/ha is applied over two applications. In autumn:
In autumn:
— prevents excessive vegetative growth;
— stimulates the accumulation of assimilates, sugars, and other nutrients in the roots;
— increases cold resistance
In spring: — more vigorous spring growth
— increases flowering intensity;
— ensures more uniform pod maturation on main and lateral branches;
— reduces the risk of lodging due to possible nitrogen excess.
Initial results of applying Nutrivant Plus for non-root feeding of oilseed crops show the potential of this method for increasing their yield and quality.
Nutrivant Plus oilseed, applied by TOV «Kozatskyye», Bobrovsky District, Chernihiv Oblast, in combination with 2+7 kg/ha urea, increased the yield of winter rapeseed by 5.2 centners/ha. As noted by the farm specialists, the height of treated plants was 140–160 cm (120–130 cm on control). The plants had a dark green color and uniform maturation.
Spring rapeseed variety «Mykitynitsky» in Khmelnytskyi Oblast, after two applications, yielded an additional 640 kg of oilseeds per hectare (control yield 19.8 centners/ha). The economic effect amounted to more than 1000 hryvnias (5000 rubles) per hectare.
At the fields of LLC «Borisovskaya Zernovaya Kompaniya», sunflower in the 3-leaf stage on a 28-hectare area was treated with Nutrivant Plus (3 kg/ha). The yield amounted to 29.0 centners/ha (+2 centners/ha compared to control), and oil content (54%) exceeded the control by 2%. In the same farm, Nutrivant Plus oilseed was used to fertilize 30 hectares of soybean. The yield on the treated variant was higher than on control, and protein content was 35.0% and 33.1% respectively.
At OAO «Kuban» in Ust-Labinsky District, 50 hectares of soybean were treated with Nutrivant Plus non-root feeding combined with herbicide application. The yield on the treated plot exceeded control by 3 centners/ha and amounted to 16 centners/ha.
In Rostov Oblast, at the Rostov State Variety Testing Station, 20 hectares of sunflower variety «Perevesht» were treated with Nutrivant Plus (3 kg/ha). The average yield in the treated variant was 16.2 centners/ha compared to 13.0 centners/ha on control.
Considering the importance of oilseed crops for the economy of farms, as well as the high efficiency of non-root feeding with Nutrivant Plus on these crops, it is easy to predict good prospects for this agricultural practice.
