Description Charovnitsa
Medium-ripening variety, obtained at VNIIS named after I.V. Michurin by crossing the varieties Minay Shmyrev and Brodtorp. Authors: T.S. Zvyagina, T.V. Zhidkhina. Included in the State Register of varieties approved for use in the Central Chernozem region in 2006.

Medium-height, spreading bush. Woody stems are thick, straight, gray-golden with a brown blush on the sun-exposed side, apex yellowish-brown. Buds are medium-sized, elongated-oval, reddish, sit on short stems, deviated from the stems, solitary or clustered, leaf scar shape is rounded-triangular.

Leaf five-lobed, medium-sized, green. Blade is bare, matte, grassy, smooth, convex, positioned downward inclined, margin straight. Lobes are pointed, central lobe longer than lateral ones, sometimes with additional projections. Lateral lobes are widely spaced, angle between their midveins obtuse. Basal lobes are well developed. Leaf base has a triangular indentation of medium depth. Teeth are medium-sized, small, doubly serrated, with clearly defined white "tips". Petiole is long, medium thickness, colored with anthocyanin.

Flowers are large, cup-shaped with widened base, sepals lanceolate, medium-sized, purplish, free, curved in arch. Inflorescences are medium length (5-7 cm), cylindrical, solitary, curved in arch, axis of medium thickness.


Berries are medium-sized (1.2-1.4 g), round, black, with strong gloss, contain medium number of egg-shaped seeds, flavor sour-sweet (4.8 points), universal use. Receptacle is round, medium-sized, closed. Berry stalk is medium length, straight. Chemical composition: dry matter - 13.0%, sugar total - 9.7%, titratable acidity - 2.7%, ascorbic acid - 129.4 mg/100 g, P-active substances - 1114.0 mg/100 g, pectic substances - 1.6%.

Cold-resistant, early-bearing, highly resistant to powdery mildew, suitable for mechanized cultivation, high-yielding, average yield 10.2 t/ha (3.1 kg/plant).

Advantages of the variety: high and stable productivity, early bearing, resistance to powdery mildew.

Disadvantages of the variety: insufficient resistance to bud mite.
