F1 Burpee — a fast-maturing, parthenocarpic bush hybrid of the cornichon type for open ground, tunnels, and spring greenhouses. It stands out for abundant green fruit formation on the plant, early and uniform fruiting, and prolonged, heavy yield. Branching is medium or above medium. At nodes, it forms 2-3 to 5-6 or more fruiting sites. The green fruits are ribbed, white-stemmed, intensely green without whitish tinge, oval-cylindrical in shape, 11-13 cm long, with medium to dense hairs, crisp and aromatic. Salted, canned, and flavor qualities are high. The hybrid is resistant to olive spot, ordinary cucumber mosaic virus, tolerant to powdery mildew and false powdery mildew.
In years with heavy infection pressure, it may partially suffer from powdery mildew, but it manages to produce a yield before disease outbreak, 1.5–2 times higher than Zozulya! Compared to F1 Zozulya, it better withstands fungal diseases. Heat-tolerant; in dry summers, it reliably provides a large quantity of tasty green fruits!
Planting density in greenhouses: 2.5 plants/m2, in open ground: 3–4 plants/m2.
