Description PR39G12
  • PR39G12
    FAO 200

Excellent, early-maturing hybrid with high yield potential. Suitable for both grain and silage. Growing degree days to flowering — 5100C, to physiological maturity — 9800C. Grain with high quality characteristics, close to the flint type, suitable for milling into grit and flour. Tall plants with fairly high ear attachment.

    Advantages
The hybrid develops well in early growth stages. Tolerates prolonged cold spring conditions. Drought-tolerant. Plants resistant to lodging. Grain rapidly dries at physiological maturity.

    Recommendations
Planting rate in regions where this hybrid is a full-season hybrid (e.g., Central Chernozem region) at sufficient moisture — 80-90 thousand seeds/ha; at insufficient moisture — 75-80 thousand seeds/ha.

  • Early-maturing simple hybrid.
  • Grain type — flint-like.
  • Dual-purpose hybrid: grain and silage.
  • Drought tolerance — good.
  • Tolerance to ear mold lower than PR39G32, PR39A50, PR39A61.
  • Tolerance to ear rot higher than average.
  • Suitable for adequately moist zones of Central and Western Polissia and Central and Western Forest-Steppe (Right Bank).
  • Suitable for early planting.
  • Well adapted to cold and humid conditions.
  • Adaptable to various environmental conditions.
  • In the Steppe under irrigation, yield may reach over 112 c/ha. In 2009 in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, planted on June 9, achieved yield over 8 t/ha with moisture less than 30%.

WARNING

  • Not suitable for monoculture (corn on corn). Under crop rotation, it outperforms PR39G32 in yield.
  • On high fertility and low plant density, prone to
    lodging.
