Description
PICADROM is a two- to three-year crop that is an improved analog of horseradish. Burdock roots differ in a richer chemical composition and better taste qualities compared to ordinary horseradish, as well as offering technological advantages during processing: the root does not branch, which simplifies its processing.
The plant's leaves have a semi-erect rosette and are well-leafed. The leaf blade is bluish-green in color, inversely egg-shaped, pinnatifid, and smooth to the touch. The root is conical in shape, reaching a length of 40 cm and a diameter of 4 cm; the root mass can reach up to 900 g. The bark coloration is gray-brown, while the flesh is white, aromatic, with a characteristic horseradish taste.
The variety is recommended for both fresh consumption and processing of both roots and leaves. Sowing seeds is carried out in open ground under winter or in spring after three months of stratification. The recommended planting scheme is 70×40 cm. The average yield is about 3.90 kg/m², and harvesting is usually carried out in October. PICADROM is distinguished by its unpretentiousness and resistance to diseases, which makes it convenient to grow under various conditions.
