Mavrik EV, produced by ADAMA MAKHTESHIM LTD., Israel, is an advanced insecticide formulation based on tau-fluvalinate. Unlike standard pyrethroids, this active ingredient exhibits superior stability against high temperatures and UV degradation. In field conditions, this characteristic ensures that the active compound remains effective on the leaf surface even during hot, sunny days, when conventional insecticides tend to break down rapidly.

Mechanism of action and selectivity

The product disrupts the nervous system of pests, causing irreversible paralysis. A critical technical advantage of Mavrik EV is its relative selectivity; when applied according to the label, it demonstrates lower toxicity towards non-target species, including bees and beneficial arthropods. This makes it a preferred choice for integrated pest management (IPM) programs, particularly during the flowering stage of crops like oilseed rape or apple orchards.

Application and efficiency

Mavrik EV is formulated as an oil-in-water emulsion, which allows for rapid dissolution and excellent coverage in spray tanks. Due to its Class 2 hazard profile, standard protective equipment should be used during mixing and application. A program of 1–2 applications per season is generally sufficient to manage pest populations effectively and prevent significant crop damage, ensuring robust yield potential and quality.
