Application of Nutrivant plus on brewing barley
Nutrivant Plus brewing barley is recommended to be used in one working solution with plant protection products. The recommended concentration of the working solution of Nutrivant Plus brewing barley is 1-3%. Application rate for brewing barley is 4 kg/ha. The volume of the working solution during non-root treatment of plants with Nutrivant Plus brewing barley should be at least 250-300 l/ha. According to the recommendations of agrochemists, optimal phases for application of Nutrivant Plus brewing barley on barley are tillering and early heading.
By chemical composition, the fertilizer fully meets the physiological needs of brewing barley. The optimum ratio between phosphorus and potassium and the content of zinc contribute to the accumulation of starch in the barley grain, improve its brewing quality indicators and reduce protein content. Boron promotes pollen tube germination, fertilization of spikelets, outflow of carbohydrates from leaves to generative organs and growth points of plants. Thus, the first feeding mainly affects an increase in yield, while the second determines higher qualitative performance required for brewing: thousand kernel weight, grain germination energy.
*. Nitrogen is applied under brewing barley based on planned yields and taking into account soil fertility, pH, predecessor and other factors. It is always recommended to apply nitrogen in one application in order not to provoke the accumulation of excess protein in the grain. Nutrivant Plus brewing barley does not contain nitrogen.
Non-root feeding with Nutrivant Plus brewing barley provides:
— increase in yield of brewing barley by 5-6 c/ha, starch content by 3-5%, improvement of brewing quality indicators and reduction of protein content by 1-2%;
— improving the consumption of biogenic elements by plants from fertilizers and soil;
— stimulation of biochemical processes and resistance of plants to fungal and viral diseases;
— eliminating stress, especially when treating with plant protection products;
— high payback of fertilizers applied in the soil;
— reducing the risk of lodging.
The first foliar application increases nitrogen utilization coefficient from soil by 20-25%, due to better root system development, accumulation of boron at growth points of roots. At the same time photosynthesis improves, a greater number of productive spikelets is formed and the number of grains in the ear increases. When applying Nutrivant Plus, the dose of nitrogen can be adjusted downward by 10-20 %. It is not recommended to reduce doses of phosphorus and potassium.
The second feeding replenishes possible nutrient deficiencies as well as allows transforming excess nitrogen into non-protein compounds. At the same time, the plant forms a larger grain, and protein content decreases and tends towards the “varietal minimum”. Nutrivant Plus applied for the second time allows "redirecting" plant growth from vegetative to generative and ensure receipt of higher yields with excellent qualities including as seed material. Thus, in 2007, farms "Potochishche", "Rоdina", "Аstra agro" of Ivano-Frankivsk, Kharkiv and Kyiv regions on an area of more than 500 hectares conducted production tests of Nutrivant Plus brewing barley on the varieties "Tsezar" and "Scarlet". At the same time, there was an increase in yield within 4.2-5.6 c/ha with a simultaneous decrease in protein to 1.5% compared to the control.
