Symptoms
The primary symptom of this infection is a characteristic mosaic pattern on the leaves. This manifests as an irregular mix of light green, yellow, and dark green patches, creating a distinct mottled appearance.
Deformation of the leaf blade is frequently observed. Leaves may become crinkled, exhibit curled margins, or develop abnormally narrow, thread-like shapes that detract from the plant's aesthetic value.
Affected plants show a significant reduction in growth rate. Internodes become shortened, leading to a stunted, dwarf habit that makes the plant appear weak and structurally compromised.
Flowering is severely impacted by the virus. Blooms may fail to open correctly, appear deformed, or show broken colors with white streaks or blotches instead of solid, vibrant pigmentation.
In advanced stages of infection, the foliage may exhibit premature chlorosis and leaf drop. This massive loss of photosynthetic area severely stresses the plant and inhibits its overall vitality.
