Sowing dates
Sowing of Veronica villosa seeds is primarily carried out in late autumn for open ground to allow for natural stratification. Spring sowing in March or April is also possible, although germination rates may be lower without prior cold treatment of the seeds.
For greenhouse cultivation, seeds are sown in trays at the end of winter. The optimal sowing depth is 0.5–1 cm, as the seeds are small and require delicate covering with a light substrate to ensure proper soil contact for germination.
A crucial factor during sowing is maintaining stable moisture levels until uniform emergence is achieved. Once the plants develop 2–3 pairs of true leaves, they are transplanted into individual containers or set out into the field with a spacing of 20–30 cm.
