Cultivation of this species requires a cool and humid environment that mimics high-altitude conditions. It thrives best in partial shade, where the plant is protected from intense midday sun that can easily scorch its delicate foliage and lead to rapid dehydration.
The soil must be well-drained, slightly acidic or neutral, and enriched with organic matter. A mixture containing grit or coarse sand is essential to prevent waterlogging, as the root system is highly susceptible to rot if kept in damp, stagnant soil conditions for extended periods.
Maintenance involves consistent moisture management, ensuring the soil remains moist but never saturated. Mulching the area around the base with fine gravel helps protect the lower leaves from direct contact with the damp soil, which significantly reduces the risk of fungal infections.
