The primrose root system is often affected by root rots caused by pathogens of the Phytophthora genus, occurring due to improper irrigation management.

Among pests, slugs and snails are most frequently observed in plantings, feeding on the tender primrose leaves during cool and rainy summer periods.

In greenhouses or closed environments, plants can be attacked by spider mites and aphids, which suck sap from young plant tissues.
