Regarding climate, this crop thrives in high-light conditions, requiring maximum solar exposure to maintain its compact growth habit. It is highly intolerant of frost, necessitating climate-controlled cultivation in temperate zones, typically within greenhouse facilities.

The optimal temperature range for vegetative development lies between 18 and 28 degrees Celsius. While it demonstrates resilience to heat, extreme spikes above 35 degrees can cause physiological stress, requiring increased air circulation to cool the plant canopy.
