The primary requirement for successful cultivation is excellent drainage. The plant thrives in sandy or rocky soils and will not tolerate standing water, which causes root rot. When planning a planting site, soil aeration and moisture permeability must be prioritized to prevent plant failure.

This species is highly photophilous and requires full sun to maintain its compact habit and prolific flowering. Exposure to deep shade results in sparse foliage and leggy stems, which significantly degrades the aesthetic value of the shrub and weakens its natural defensive mechanisms against stress.
