Once the fungal spores adhere to the insect's surface, they germinate under favorable conditions. The fungal mycelium penetrates the host's exoskeleton, invading its internal body cavity.

The fungus secretes specialized enzymes and toxins that break down the insect's internal tissues, leading to cessation of feeding and subsequent death. The process is a natural cycle of infection that can reduce pest populations significantly.

Under suitable humidity levels, the fungus may produce conidia on the surface of the dead host, allowing for horizontal transmission to other healthy insects in the colony.

This biological mechanism makes it a potent tool in integrated pest management (IPM) programs, providing an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional chemical pesticides.

What it targets

Restrictions

It is incompatible with chemical fungicides that possess strong anti-mycotic properties. Users must observe a waiting period between the application of chemical fungicides and this biological product.

Direct UV radiation can be lethal to the spores. Applications should ideally be carried out in the early morning or evening to minimize exposure to intense sunlight.

Storage conditions must be strictly followed, keeping the product in a cool, dark environment to maintain the viability of the fungal spores until the time of application.

While safe for general use, individuals should wear appropriate protective equipment when handling large quantities to prevent potential respiratory or skin irritation from fungal spores.
