OptiCHOS
Description
Mode of action
Optichos is a specialized group of fungicidal agents designed to inhibit metabolic processes within the cells of pathogenic fungi. The mechanism of action is based on disrupting ergosterol synthesis, which leads to irreversible damage to the fungal cell membranes.
These products exhibit both protective and curative effects by penetrating plant tissues and suppressing mycelium development in the early stages. The systemic translocation of active ingredients ensures protection not only for the treated parts but also for new growth.
Due to high selectivity, components of the Optichos group effectively block the enzymatic systems of pathogens, preventing spore germination and their spread across the crop. This significantly reduces the infection load in the field during critical growth phases.
The long-lasting residual effect of this group is provided by its resistance to rain washout, which is crucial in varying weather conditions. Active ingredients maintain their effectiveness in plant tissues for a significant period of the growing season.
The complex impact on pathogens prevents the formation of resistant strains when combined with proper rotation of fungicides from other chemical classes. The use of this group helps preserve the photosynthetic surface area of leaves.
What it targets
Optichos group products are used to control a wide spectrum of phytopathogens, including agents causing powdery mildew, various types of rust, and leaf spots. They are effective against the majority of ascomycetes, basidiomycetes, and deuteromycetes.
The main crops for application include cereals (wheat, barley), open and greenhouse vegetables, and industrial crops. These products successfully suppress infection foci in the early stages of vegetation.
Using these products allows for the control of dangerous diseases such as septoria, pyrenophora, and helminthosporium, which can lead to significant yield losses. Effectiveness is observed even under high crop infection pressure.
Optichos also shows high results in controlling root and crown rot. This promotes better rooting and development of the crop during the early spring period.
The wide coverage of pathogens allows these products to be used within integrated crop protection programs. Application is justified both during preventive treatments and at the first signs of disease appearance.
Rates and timing
The application rates for the Optichos group are determined by the specific crop type, disease severity, and the plant growth stage. It is recommended to strictly follow the regulations provided by the manufacturer for the specific formulation.
Optimal treatment times fall during the period of active crop growth when the risk of spore spread is at its highest. It is important to perform spraying during morning or evening hours when wind speeds are low and no precipitation is expected.
The number of treatments per season is usually limited to two or three applications to prevent the accumulation of active ingredients in the produce. The interval between spraying ranges from 14 to 21 days.
Tank mixtures are permitted to improve product efficiency, although preliminary checks for physical and chemical compatibility are necessary. Using surfactants can significantly improve coverage on the leaf surface.
When calculating the working solution rate, it is necessary to consider the leaf surface area of the crop to ensure uniform distribution of the product droplets. Insufficient coverage reduces the biological effectiveness of the fungicidal protection.
Restrictions
When using the Optichos group, adherence to safety rules for handling pesticides is mandatory. Work must be conducted using personal protective equipment for the respiratory tract, skin, and eyes.
These products are moderately hazardous to the environment; therefore, the entry of working solutions into water bodies and protected areas must be avoided. Pre-harvest intervals specified in the application regulations must be strictly observed.
An important restriction is the ban on using these products near apiaries due to the potential danger to bees during crop flowering. It is not recommended to carry out treatments at temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius.
Fungicide storage must be carried out in specialized dry facilities with a temperature regime that prevents freezing or overheating. Damaged packaging must be disposed of immediately in accordance with environmental standards.
Strict records of product usage must be kept to monitor the phytosanitary condition of fields and prevent excessive chemical input into the soil. Expired products should not be used due to the risk of reduced effectiveness.
