Description
Mode of action
The active substance consists of spore-forming bacteria that actively colonize the plant rhizosphere, creating a protective barrier around the root system. This process displaces pathogens through direct competition for space and nutrients.
During its life cycle, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens FZB24 synthesizes a complex of metabolites with strong fungicidal activity. These include specific lipopeptides capable of disrupting the cell membranes of pathogenic fungi.
Beyond direct suppression, the FZB24 strain induces Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR) in the plant. This triggers the plant's immune system to produce protective proteins, making the crop less susceptible to further infections.
An important part of its action is the production of phytohormones, particularly auxins, which promote vigorous root system development. Increased root surface area leads to significantly improved nutrient uptake from the soil.
The preparation functions effectively across a wide range of temperatures and soil pH levels while maintaining high spore viability. This versatility allows for application in both open-field conditions and greenhouse agricultural environments.

This strain is used against a broad spectrum of pathogens that cause root and crown rots, as well as various foliar fungal diseases.

Rates and timing
Application rates depend on the product formulation and the method of application. For seed treatment, the dosage is 1–2 liters per metric ton, ensuring critical early-stage protection for sprouts.
For drip irrigation (fertigation) systems, the recommended concentration of the working solution ranges from 0.1% to 0.5%, depending on the soil pathogen pressure and substrate type.
Foliar spraying should be performed at intervals of 7–14 days depending on the phytosanitary situation. It is essential to ensure thorough and uniform coverage of the leaf surface with the working solution.
Restrictions
A major limitation is the potential incompatibility with chemical fungicides of the benzimidazole group and certain copper-based products, which can inhibit the growth of beneficial bacteria.
When using the FZB24 strain in tank mixes, compatibility testing is required. It is not recommended to mix the preparation with strongly alkaline compounds, as these may reduce the viability of the spores in the tank.
