Amino acids (mix)
Description
Mode of action
An amino acid mixture belongs to the group of physiologically active substances known as anti-stress agents and plant growth stimulants. Unlike mineral fertilizers, these compounds serve as ready-made "building blocks" for protein and enzyme synthesis, allowing the plant to conserve a significant amount of metabolic energy.
The mechanism of action is based on the direct integration of amino acids into the cell's metabolic processes. Upon application, the plant receives the specific molecules required for tissue construction, which is critical during periods of intensive growth or after exposure to adverse environmental factors.
Preparations based on amino acid mixtures activate the plant's natural defense mechanisms. They promote the accumulation of sugars and proline, which improve the resistance of cellular membranes to temperature fluctuations and drought stress.
These substances also act as natural chelating agents. They bind to metal ions, facilitating their penetration through the leaf cuticle and their transport within the plant's vascular system to areas of active growth.
The application of amino acid mixtures balances the plant's phytohormone levels. This leads to increased photosynthetic activity of chloroplasts and optimization of respiration processes, directly impacting overall crop productivity.
What it targets
The primary purpose of this group of substances is to mitigate the effects of abiotic stress: frost, drought, high soil salinity, or phytotoxicity following pesticide application.
These preparations are effective across a wide range of crops, including cereal grains, corn, sunflowers, vegetables, and fruit-bearing plants.
The use of amino acid mixtures is justified during critical growth phases, such as tillering, stem elongation, flowering, and grain filling, when the plant's demand for energy resources is at its peak.
The agent is often used to improve crop quality: enhancing grain fullness, increasing the sugar content of fruits, or increasing the root mass of root crops.
Additionally, the mixture is used as an adjuvant, facilitating more efficient absorption of tank-mixed pesticides and micronutrients by improving leaf surface wetting and permeability.
Rates and timing
Application rates for amino acid mixtures vary depending on the product, the concentration of the active ingredient, and the condition of the crops. Typically, rates range from 0.5 to 2.0 liters (or kilograms) per hectare.
Application timing is determined by the crop growth stage or the emergence of a stress situation. Preventive treatments are carried out according to the protocol before stress occurs or simultaneously with scheduled fertilization.
Emergency treatments following hail damage, chemical burns, or frost should be performed as quickly as possible to accelerate the regeneration of damaged tissues.
The optimal time for spraying is during the early morning or evening hours, avoiding intense solar radiation to ensure maximum absorption of the composition.
When preparing tank mixes, it is essential to perform a compatibility test, as certain products with high copper or sulfur content may react negatively with amino acids.
Restrictions
It is forbidden to exceed the application rates recommended by the manufacturer, as an excess of specific amino acids can cause physiological imbalance and inhibit growth.
Avoid treatments during extremely high air temperatures (above +28–30 °C), as this reduces the efficiency of component absorption and increases the risk of phytotoxicity.
Avoid mixing with products that have a highly alkaline reaction, as this may lead to denaturation and loss of biological activity of the active substances.
Storage must be carried out in the original packaging in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight to prevent the degradation of organic compounds.
Follow safety regulations when working with agrochemicals: use personal protective equipment for the respiratory tract and skin, and prevent concentrated product from coming into contact with mucous membranes.
