Algarobius prosopis is a species of beetle belonging to the family Bruchidae (seed beetles) within the order Coleoptera. It is a well-known specialist pest that thrives on the seeds of certain leguminous trees.
The adult beetle is small, typically ranging from 3 to 5 mm in length. Its body is compact with a mottled brown or grayish color, allowing it to blend in with the seed pods of its host plants.
The larvae are legless and undergo a complete metamorphosis. They spend their entire developmental period hidden inside the seed, relying on the nutrient-rich endosperm for their growth.

What it damages
