Significant weakening of the structure, such as sagging beams or flooring that crumbles when pressure is applied, indicates a long-term and advanced infestation that requires urgent attention.

Finding dead beetles or their shed casings near wooden surfaces, particularly during the spring and summer months, serves as a clear indicator that a colony is present and active.

Control measures

Control strategies involve the application of specialized insecticides formulated for deep penetration, designed to reach and eliminate larvae hiding within the wood galleries.

For localized infestations, injecting liquid treatment agents directly into the exit holes and tunnels is an effective method to ensure the poison reaches the target pests.
