This species is specifically associated with plants in the Myrtaceae family. They prefer to hide in protected areas such as leaf axils, underneath bark scales, and along the young, tender stems of host plants.
Reproduction is sexual, and females deposit eggs into loose, cottony ovisacs. The resulting nymphs, or "crawlers," are highly mobile and can quickly disperse across the plant or be carried to nearby plants by air currents.
In greenhouse settings, these insects can maintain continuous generations throughout the year, provided the temperature remains favorable for their rapid life cycle.
