The life cycle includes eggs, nymphs (crawlers), and adults. Females deposit hundreds of eggs into an ovisac, a protective white, waxy mass that protects the developing larvae from environmental hazards.
They possess a piercing-sucking mouthpart called a stylet, which they insert into the plant's vascular tissue to extract phloem sap, the primary source of their nutrition.
