As is common with many bot flies, the adult stage is non-feeding, possessing a vestigial mouthpart. Their primary function is reproduction, and they are highly adapted to locate camels using specialized sensory organs capable of detecting host signals over distances.

A key biological feature of Cephalopina titillator is its viviparous nature. Females do not lay eggs; instead, they deposit first-instar larvae directly into the nostrils of the camel during flight, a process that occurs in a fraction of a second.
