Taxonomically, porpoises belong to the suborder Odontoceti (toothed whales). Unlike insect pests, nematodes, or rodents, they lack the anatomical structure and biological drive to consume vegetation. Misclassifying these animals as pests is scientifically incorrect, as they are exclusively carnivores feeding on fish and squid.

The biology and lifecycle of porpoises are entirely adapted to an aquatic existence. They do not visit or inhabit farmland, greenhouses, or orchards. Their lifecycle involves migration, breeding, and hunting in oceanic waters, making any contact with terrestrial agricultural systems physically impossible and biologically irrelevant.

Regarding damage to crops, porpoises cause none. They do not consume plant tissues, destroy irrigation infrastructure, or act as vectors for plant pathogens. In agricultural management, they are completely excluded from the list of harmful organisms, as their presence has no impact on crop yields or plant vitality.

There are no protective measures required for crops against Phocaenidae because they pose no risk. Instead of focusing on control, it is important to emphasize that these animals are part of a delicate marine ecosystem.
