Systemic pest control with acetamiprid

The insecticide "VAMP 200 VP" is based on acetamiprid, a neonicotinoid class active ingredient. Unlike contact-only poisons, this product features pronounced systemic action: after spraying during the vegetation period, the active ingredient quickly penetrates plant tissues, distributing acropetally (from the roots to the tip). This is critical for protecting new growth that emerges post-treatment.

Mechanism of action and formulation advantages

Acetamiprid binds to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the insect's nervous system, causing overstimulation, convulsions, and rapid mortality. A key feature of the formulation is its water-dispersible granules. This form ensures no dusting during preparation of the stock solution and provides excellent solubility without leaving residue in the sprayer tank.

Spectrum of application and rates

The product is effective against a wide range of chewing and sucking pests:

• Winter rapeseed: control of rapeseed blossom beetle and cruciferous flea beetles.
• Apple trees: control of codling moth, aphids, and thrips.
• Winter wheat: eradication of cereal leaf beetles and the sunn pest.

The application rate ranges from 0.5 to 1.0 kg/ha (depending on infestation level and crop). Up to two treatments per season are permitted, allowing for an effective protection strategy even under high pest pressure.
