Grimme GL 430

Precision to the Tuber: Grimme GL Engineering

The Grimme GL series is engineered around the concept of gentle yet high-speed planting. The centerpiece is the planting element with a unique spoon belt geometry. Unlike standard systems, Grimme spoons feature a specific curvature that centers the tuber before delivery to the furrow opener. This eliminates "skips" and ensures uniform planting depth, which is vital for synchronized emergence and field uniformity.

Flow Control and Ridge Geometry

The ridging bodies on the Grimme GL are not merely metal housings but active tools for managing soil structure. Hydraulic pressure adjustment allows the operator to modify ridge density on the fly. This is essential when navigating varying soil textures, from light sands to heavy loams. Proper consolidation ensures optimal capillary moisture rise, protecting the seed material from desiccation during dry spells.

• Furrow Opener System: The parallelogram linkage ensures precise ground contour following, preventing the unit from digging too deep in uneven terrain.
• Process Optimization: The model fine-tunes inter-tuber spacing, which is critical for achieving the desired marketable potato fraction.
• ISOBUS Integration: Section Control capabilities prevent seed overlap and waste at field edges.

The brand's engineers focused on modularity: the design allows for combined planting operations, such as simultaneous fertilizer application or chemical treatment, in a single pass. This reduces fuel consumption and minimizes mechanical stress on the soil, effectively preventing harmful compaction.
