Description Topaz 100 EC
Systemic fungicide for protection of stone fruit, drupe, berry, vegetable, ornamental crops and grapevines against true powdery mildew and other diseases.

Active ingredient

penconazole, 100 g/l

Chemical class: triazoles

Danger class 3

Packaging: 5L

Properties

High efficiency against true powdery mildew pathogens, especially in suppressing primary infection
Excellent plant tolerance
Low application rate
Long-lasting effect
Systemic activity allows protection of all plant parts susceptible to disease
Protective, curative, and eradicating action
Ideal partner in mixtures for comprehensive protection

Advantages

Suitable for many crops where powdery mildew is a problem
Reduces number of treatments, flexible timing
Rapid plant uptake reduces risk of rain wash-off
Suitable for inclusion in integrated plant protection programs

Intended use

The Topaz fungicide is a systemic fungicide with protective and curative action, highly effective against powdery mildew pathogens and some other diseases of apple, cucumber, grapevine, black currant, raspberry, blackberry, cherry, peach, ornamental and medicinal crops.

Compatibility with other pesticides

The product is compatible in tank mixtures with most fungicides and insecticides used in gardens. However, compatibility of mixed products should be checked in each specific case.

Protective period

14-18 days under moderate disease development; 8-10 days under epidemic disease development; curative action: within 96 hours after infection.

Speed of action

Mycelial growth stops within 2-3 hours after treatment.

Application technology

Clean the tank, main pipelines, nozzles, and ensure proper functioning of the sprayer before starting protective treatments. Determine water flow rate through nozzles and compare with calculated data for working solution application rate per

1 ha. Spraying is conducted in early morning or late afternoon hours in calm weather, avoiding drift onto neighboring crops. Do not spray if rain is expected within 2 hours after application.

Protective application gives best results. Working solution application rate depends on crop development stage and disease severity. It should be sufficient to fully wet the entire leaf surface. Avoid runoff of the working solution from treated leaf surfaces. Minimum rates are used at the beginning of vegetation and/or low infection levels; maximum rates are used at full leaf development and/or high infection levels.

Application timing

Early vegetation (protective applications) to suppress primary infection of powdery mildew pathogens and prevent disease spread or at first signs of disease appearance. Interval between applications: 7-14 days. If necessary, after Topaz application, use contact fungicides (e.g., TIOVIT JET, VDG).

After completing treatment, thoroughly rinse the sprayer and spraying equipment. If Topaz is used in tank mixtures with other pesticides, follow this dissolution order in the sprayer tank: *SP or SC > Topaz > EC (* — if component is in water-soluble packaging, dissolve this product first in the sprayer tank).

Preparation of working solution

Fill half the sprayer tank with clean water, turn on the mixer, add the calculated and measured amount of the product, and continue filling the tank while mixing. Continue mixing during application to ensure uniformity of the working mixture. The working solution must be used on the day of preparation.

Phytotoxicity

When used strictly according to the manufacturer’s recommendations, no risk of phytotoxicity is created.

Recommendations for protecting beneficial flora and fauna

The product is non-toxic to birds and bees, slightly toxic to fish. Avoid contaminating water bodies and drinking water sources with product residues and rinse water from packaging and equipment. The product must not enter food or animal feed.

Do not graze livestock on freshly treated crops. Application should be conducted in early morning or late afternoon hours in calm weather.

Possibility of resistance development

None, provided strict adherence to manufacturer’s recommendations. To prevent resistance, it is recommended to alternate fungicides from different chemical groups.

Storage of the product

Store the product in a dry, dark place within temperature range from -5°C to +35°C.

Storage period

4 years from date of manufacture.
