Symptoms

As the infection spreads, individual spots coalesce to cover large sections of the foliage, leading to premature yellowing, withering, and necrosis of the leaves.

Early-stage infection can be subtle, but careful inspection of the undersides of leaves often reveals the early formation of fungal spore cushions.

Severe infestations result in stunted growth, distorted flower spikes, and a significant reduction in the vitality of the corms, which may fail to store well.
