Symptoms

Symptoms often appear in a patchy distribution within the field, reflecting the erratic feeding patterns of the leafhopper vector. Infected plants stand out due to their pale color and abnormal shape.

As the disease progresses, the plant loses turgor and may eventually collapse. There is no presence of fungal spores, molds, or lesions, which helps distinguish this viral issue from common fungal pathogens.
