Description

Symptoms

Initial symptoms include small, chlorotic (yellowish) spots appearing on the upper surface of the leaves.

As the infection progresses, characteristic pustules known as uredinia develop on the underside of the leaves, containing a rusty-brown, powdery mass of spores.

Severe infestations can lead to the formation of pustules on stems and flower stalks, causing distinct deformation and stunting.

Infected foliage eventually turns yellow, wilts, and drops prematurely, significantly reducing the aesthetic value of the decorative plant.

In advanced cases, the plant shows overall growth retardation and a significant decrease in the number and quality of flowers produced.
