The main danger of this object lies in its high toxicity when consumed by humans. The mushroom contains heat-stable toxins that cause severe gastrointestinal distress.
Symptoms of poisoning include nausea, repeated vomiting, diarrhea, and sharp abdominal pain, appearing shortly after ingestion.
Despite its toxicity to mammals, in the forest ecosystem, the fungus is not a pathogen and does not inhibit the growth of nearby cultivated plants.
