Gossia macilwraithensis is a distinct woody plant species belonging to the Myrtaceae family. It is native to the rainforest regions of the McIlwraith Range in northeastern Australia, thriving in a highly specialized ecosystem that supports unique biodiversity.

This species requires a tropical climate characterized by year-round moisture and stable temperatures. It is particularly sensitive to cold stress and frost, making its cultivation restricted to environments that mimic the humid conditions of a tropical rainforest.
