For normal development, the vine requires sturdy supports, as it forms long shoots during growth that use tendrils for vertical anchoring.

The main danger to the vegetative mass is posed by aphids and spider mites, which multiply actively when air humidity decreases in enclosed spaces.

Under conditions of soil waterlogging, root rots caused by pathogenic fungi from the genera Phytophthora and Pythium are observed.

Leaf spots caused by bacterial infections can affect the plant during poor air circulation within dense thickets of the vine.

Pest prevention includes regular inspection of the underside of leaves and the use of biological insecticides at early stages of colony detection.
