Merino Daisy, belonging to the Asteraceae family, is typically propagated by seeds in open fields or seedling trays. The optimal time for indoor sowing is late March or early April, which allows the plants to bloom within the first year of growth.

When sowing directly into the soil, planting should be done in late May after the danger of frost has passed, or in September for natural stratification. Seeds are distributed evenly over the moistened surface and lightly covered with a thin layer of soil or sand.

Maintaining a stable moisture level and a temperature range of 18–20 degrees Celsius is essential for successful germination. Seedlings usually emerge within two to three weeks, at which point the trays should be moved to a cooler, well-lit environment.

When transplanting seedlings to their permanent location, it is important to follow a spacing scheme that ensures adequate air circulation. A distance of at least 30–40 centimeters between plants is recommended to prevent the development of fungal infections.

Merino Daisy exhibits good frost resistance; however, in regions with severe winters and little snow, light protection with dry leaves or spruce branches is recommended. Timely removal of faded flower heads encourages secondary blooming and maintains the plant's compact shape.

Major pests affecting this crop include aphids, spittlebugs, and meadow plant bugs that feed on the sap of young leaves and flower buds. Control is achieved through the application of systemic insecticides or traditional methods like tobacco or soap water solutions.

Among diseases, powdery mildew poses the greatest threat, appearing as a white film on aerial plant organs under high humidity conditions. Infected parts must be removed immediately, and the plant should be treated with copper-based fungicides.

Various forms of root rot can occur if soil drainage is poor, eventually leading to plant wilting. Preventive measures include strictly following watering schedules and ensuring adequate aeration of the plot to reduce pathogen spread.

To prevent nematode infestations, it is important to practice crop rotation and avoid planting daisies in areas previously occupied by other Asteraceae family members. Starting with healthy planting material is the key to successful, chemical-free production.

Regular monitoring of plantings allows for early detection of pest infestations, preventing large-scale outbreaks. Removing plant debris from the garden in autumn significantly minimizes the number of overwintering fungal spores.
