This species requires a temperate climate with high light exposure, but it performs best when provided with partial shade during the hottest hours of the day. It thrives in well-drained, fertile soil that maintains consistent moisture without becoming waterlogged.
Agricultural success depends on providing a growing medium with neutral or slightly acidic pH levels. The plant is sensitive to soil compaction; therefore, incorporating organic matter like leaf mold or compost is highly recommended for optimal root development.
