Sowing of Zohary's chamomile is recommended to take place in early spring as soon as soil temperatures reach 8 to 10 degrees Celsius. Mid-April is generally considered the optimal window for establishing crops, ensuring the seedlings benefit from post-winter moisture.
Seeds should be sown at a shallow depth of no more than 1 to 2 centimeters. Because the seeds are small, it is essential to ensure good soil-to-seed contact by rolling the field immediately after sowing to prevent the surface soil from drying out prematurely.
For commercial production, row spacing should be set between 45 and 60 centimeters. This provides sufficient space for each plant to access light and nutrients, while simultaneously allowing for mechanical weeding between the rows as the crop develops.
